Artistic Statement
I spend numerous hours, even days, painting on location in addition to using reference photographs. I'm happiest working on my art which provides
me with inner peace. As an artist in the second half of my life, I have a sense of urgency to create and tell visually the stories that surround me in both nature and in the people I meet.
My interest in iconography began while visiting an Eastern rite Catholic church in Williamsburg, Virginia. I was visually overpowered by their aesthetic beauty.
